StepDescription
1. Gather Your SuppliesBefore you start, ensure you have all necessary supplies: baking soda, white vinegar, a spray bottle, a damp dish cloth, a plastic or silicone spatula, and rubber gloves for protection.
2. Empty the OvenRemove everything from your oven—racks, pizza stone, oven thermometer, etc.
3. Make a Baking Soda PasteIn a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water to make a spreadable paste.
4. Coat Your OvenDon your gloves, and spread the baking soda paste all over the interior surfaces of your oven, avoiding the heating elements. A spatula can be useful in spreading the paste.
5. Let It Sit OvernightAllow the paste to sit overnight, or for at least 12 hours. The baking soda will need time to break down the grime.
6. Clean the Oven RacksWhile the paste is doing its job, it's a good time to clean the oven racks. Soak them in warm, soapy water and scrub off any grime with a scrub brush or abrasive pad.
7. Wipe Out the OvenAfter 12 hours or overnight, take a damp dish cloth and wipe out as much of the dried baking soda paste as you can.
8. Apply Vinegar

Put a little vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz everywhere you still see baking soda residue in your oven. The vinegar will react with the baking soda and gently foam.

9. Do Final Wipe DownTake your damp cloth again and wipe out the remaining foamy vinegar-baking soda mixture. Repeat until all the residue is gone.
10. Replace the Racks

Replace the clean oven racks and anything else you keep in your oven, and you're done!
